Your files
Every conversion on LayerPorter runs locally, in your browser. When you drop a file, it is processed on your own device and never transmitted to our servers. We do not receive, see, or store the files you convert — there is nothing to delete because nothing was kept.
Accounts
LayerPorter does not have accounts. You don’t sign up, log in, or provide an email address to use any converter on this site.
Cookies
LayerPorter does not use cookies.
Analytics
We may use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to understand aggregate page views and anonymous tool events (for example, “a PNG-to-PSD conversion happened”), so we know which tools are used and can fix what’s broken. This data is not tied to your identity, does not include the contents or names of your files, and is not used for cross-site tracking or ad targeting.
Browser extensions {#extensions}
LayerPorter’s browser extensions (such as PSD Export and Site to Canva) follow the same principle: processing happens on your device. Specifics that apply only to the extensions:
- What they can access. The extensions use the
activeTabpermission — they can read a page only after you click the extension icon on that page, and only that page. They cannot read your browsing history or watch pages in the background. - PSD Export builds the .psd file entirely on your device. Nothing about the page you capture, or the file it produces, is sent anywhere.
- Site to Canva needs to hand your selection to the Canva app, so the captured selection is transmitted encrypted to our relay server, stored temporarily, and deleted automatically within 24 hours. It is used only to deliver your capture into Canva — never sold, analyzed, or shared. No account is attached to it; delivery is protected by a one-time pairing code that only you have.
- Usage telemetry. The extensions keep an anonymous installation identifier and feature-level event counts (for example, “an export succeeded” or “an export failed”) on your device. These events never include page contents, page URLs, file contents, or anything that identifies you. If we later enable sending these anonymous counts to us, this policy will be updated first.
- Uninstalling removes everything the extension stored on your device. The uninstall page you may see afterwards asks for feedback strictly voluntarily, via a pre-filled email.
Third parties
We don’t sell, share, or transmit your files to any third party, because we never have them to begin with. If a page links to another tool or service — for example, Photopea or Google Slides — that service’s own privacy policy governs what happens once you’re there.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the update will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. We recommend checking back if you rely on the specifics for a compliance requirement of your own.
