PSD to PNG Converter — Export With Transparency

This free tool reads a layered PSD in your browser and exports it as a single PNG with transparency intact. Layers are flattened into the final image — that's how PNG works — so the result is ready for websites, apps, and anywhere a plain image is needed. Nothing is uploaded to a server.

Export a PSD file as PNG

Drop a PSD file — or click to choose one

Processed in your browser · nothing is uploaded

100% client-side — nothing leaves your device

How it works

  1. Drop your PSD. Drag a .psd file into the upload zone, or click to choose one. Works with layered PSD files — layers are flattened into the final image.
  2. The file is read locally. Your browser parses the PSD on your device — no server involved.
  3. Check the preview. See the flattened result, including transparent areas, before saving.
  4. Download the PNG. Save a lossless PNG, ready for the web, a slide deck, or a chat.

FAQ

Does the PNG keep transparency from my PSD?

Yes. PNG supports an alpha channel, so transparent and semi-transparent areas of your document survive the export. If your design has a transparent background, the PNG will too.

What happens to my layers?

They are flattened: every visible layer is merged into one image, exactly as the document looks. PNG has no concept of layers, so this is true of any PSD-to-image export, not just this tool. Your original PSD is not modified.

How do I export a PNG from a PSD without Photoshop?

Drop the .psd into the tool above — your browser reads the file and produces the PNG, no Photoshop or account needed. For more control over individual layers, open the file in Photopea or GIMP before exporting.

Will hidden layers show up in the PNG?

No — the export reflects the document as it looks with the current layer visibility, so layers that were hidden stay out of the image.

Is PNG or JPG better for exporting a design?

PNG if you need transparency or crisp edges on text and UI elements — it is lossless. JPG produces much smaller files for photographic content but fills transparency with a solid color. For logos and interface graphics, PNG is the usual choice.

More conversions

A PSD is a working file; a PNG is a finished image. Exporting flattens your layers into one picture with transparency preserved — the right format for putting a design onto a website or into an app. Need to go the other way? Our PNG to PSD converter wraps a flat image back into an editable file.
